Support GSA

The Governor’s School for the Arts prides itself on excellence: the excellence of our many alumni and the excellence of the program itself. Though GSA students attend the summer program for free, the program comes with a price tag. Be sure to explore this section to discover all of the ways you can support GSA!

Tuition, room, board and supplies cost over $4,000 per student for over 500 students each summer.

Individual Giving

Raising support for the arts should be fun! While direct monetary and in-kind contributions to GSA are greatly appreciated, many friends of GSA have raised significant amounts of support for the program by doing what they do best – getting creative!

GSA supporters have held everything from yard sales to recitals to maintain and increase GSA’s ability to impact the lives of people across Kentucky.

THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! WHAT WILL YOU THINK UP? EMAIL JUSTIN WILLIAMSON OR CALL (502) 566-5199.

Corporate Giving

Support from the corporate community allows GSA to pursue its mission and tradition of excellence in our community. GSA relies on corporate support in order to continue providing free, high-quality arts education opportunities to Kentucky’s talented artists.

GSA partners with local, regional and national corporations. These companies provide funding for GSA’s annual summer program and ongoing community outreach activities. In return, Kentucky Performing Arts and GSA recognize these corporate partners in printed materials, online and several other outlets.

WE WELCOME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE MORE ABOUT GSA WITH YOUR COMPANY AND TO EXPLORE MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.

Endowed Giving

What Is An Endowment?

The Kentucky Center for the Arts Endowment Fund, Inc. is a separate, charitable organization with 501(c)(3) status created exclusively for The Kentucky Center and its programs.  The Kentucky Center for the Arts Endowment Fund, Inc. is a self-renewing resource that the Center holds forever and does not spend. Instead, endowed funds are invested and the earnings from these investments help support programs like GSA and ensure an income stream for the future.

Since its beginning in 1980, the Endowment Fund has increased steadily, thanks to gifts from friends ranging from foundations to individuals to corporations. GSA’s friends and supporters help guarantee its future by making a gift to endowment for GSA. Endowment is an essential source of permanent financial support for a program like GSA which charges no tuition or other fees to its student artists.

Creating A Separate Endowment Fund

Donors can contribute any amount to GSA’s general endowment fund, or, they can create a separate named fund with a contribution restricted for GSA. A contribution to endowment can be made with: An outright gift; a gift in a will, trust, life insurance or retirement plan assets; or, a life income plan. The fund name may honor the donor or may perpetuate the memory of, or honor, a loved one.

GSA is happy to recognize endowment gifts through commemorative opportunities such as named scholarships and other special initiatives as desired.

If great programs are built on great endowments, GSA’s growing endowment will lead to new standards of excellence.

WE ARE PLEASED TO HELP YOU PLAN YOUR GIFT FOR GSA!
